The Star EV Leo golf cart is a 4 passenger street legal low speed vehicle (LSV) with four seats facing forwards, and built with rider comfort in mind. It features an adjustable steering column, along with adjustable armrests, so that drivers can customize perfectly fitting seating. As a street legal vehicle, it comes with all the safety features needed to drive on public roads with a posted speed limit of 35mph or less, including headlights, taillights, brake lights, horn, and turn signals. Integrated entertainment systems with wireless carplay and android auto are also included, along with phone charging ports.

This cart also features a 105AH lithium battery, with many benefits over a standard lead-acid golf cart battery system. Golf cart lithium batteries have a much longer driving range, able to travel often at least 40 miles more than a lead-acid battery, which can usually only drive 20-25 miles on a charge. They also charge much faster, often able to get back to 100% in under 6 hours, while severely discharged lead-acid batteries can take up to 18 hours to fully recharge. They also require no maintenance like waterfilling or terminal cleaning, give off no harmful fumes, and their smaller size takes about 400 pounds of weight off the golf cart. Lithium batteries also have a much longer lifespan than lead-acid batteries, with over 2,000 more charging cycles and lasting up to 10 years as opposed to lead-acid batteries normally lasting around 2 to 3 years.

Tow Hitch Installation

When you bring your vehicle to our service center to get a hitch installed, our team will find the perfect hitch designed for your vehicle. We take care of the process of temporarily removing parts like the underbody panels, exhaust hangers, and spare tire if applicable, and aligning the hitch with the pre-existing frame holes, or drilling new ones if the vehicle does not already have factory-threaded mounting points.

Everything is tightened securely, and electrical wiring service is also provided, so that when a trailer is connected to the hitch, you can attach it to the wires so that the taillights and brake lights of the trailer will sync with the lights of your vehicle.

Along with standard lead-acid battery systems, we also provide lithium battery service as well, which can range from replacing a lead-acid system with lithium, or repairing issues with already installed lithium batteries.

Lithium Battery Service

Conversion from lead-acid: If you’ve recently purchased a golf cart lithium battery and are unsure how to remove the lead-acid batteries and install the lithium, our team of technicians is available to swap out the batteries and connect all necessary cords and cables. Some lithium batteries are charged by plugging directly into an outlet or extension cord, while others will swap out your cart’s old charging port plug for a modern lithium compatible receptacle, or configure an OEM plug to match the new smart charger. We also provide the installation of the state of charge meter and (if needed) voltage reducer.

If a cart is shutting down prematurely, driving slower up hills, or not charging, it may be an issue with the BMS. Our technicians are trained to be able to connect and read the error codes given, and re-calibrate the cells, or update the internal firmware. The cart’s motor controller may also need an adjustment to safely and efficiently handle the sudden, sustained high amperage of lithium batteries.

Benefits of Lithium Batteries

Longer Lifespan: Lithium batteries can last for upwards of 10 years or more, while lead-acid batteries typically only last around 2 to 3 years when the cart is driven regularly.

Faster Charging Time: A lithium battery can recharge from a very low percentage to full in just about 5 hours, while lead-acid batteries can take up to 18 hours to fully recharge if they are very low.

Less Weight: Most lithium batteries typically weigh around 70 to 100 pounds, and only require one to power the cart. Installing a lithium battery will take off about 400 pounds of extra weight, and can possibly allow your cart to drive faster now that it’s not being weighed down.

No Maintenance: Unlike lead-acid batteries, which need to be refilled with distilled water every few months and have their terminals cleaned of corrosion, lithium batteries are sealed and do not require any maintenance.

Environmentally Friendly: Lithium batteries do not contain the same hazardous chemicals, such as lead and sulfuric acid, that lead-acid batteries do, and do not run the risk of giving off dangerous fumes when plugged in to charge.

With our Star carts, customers have the option of booking via the Journee reservation page, or coming to one of our store locations – either in Riviera Beach or Fort Lauderdale – to scan a QR code on the cart to rent it right there and then. Our scan-and-go method allows customers to rent a cart the same day in just a few minutes, by simply scanning the QR code sticker and downloading the Journee app, and then entering all necessary information (such as payment info, driver’s licenses, and insurance cards).
